Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Roehampton Movers
Roehampton Movers is committed to conducting its business ethically, responsibly, and in full compliance with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human trafficking. This statement outlines the steps we take to prevent modern slavery in our own operations and throughout our supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Roehampton Movers operates a strict zero-tolerance policy toward modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, and any form of exploitation. We do not accept or condone practices that compromise the freedom, dignity, or fundamental rights of individuals. All employees, contractors, and suppliers are required to uphold these standards as a condition of working with us.
We recognise that the logistics and removals sector can be exposed to risks of labour exploitation, particularly in relation to temporary, seasonal, and subcontracted workforces. We are determined to identify, prevent, and address any such risks.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Roehampton Movers provides residential and commercial moving and related services. Our operations rely on drivers, movers, administrative teams, and a network of suppliers that may provide vehicles, equipment, storage facilities, uniforms, and agency labour.
We expect all suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to human rights and to operate in accordance with all relevant modern slavery and labour standards legislation. Our contractual arrangements seek to embed these expectations in a clear and enforceable way.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are progressively strengthening our due diligence processes to identify and manage the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain. This includes:
Conducting initial assessments of key suppliers to evaluate their labour practices, working conditions, and compliance with legal requirements.
Requiring confirmation from suppliers that they do not engage in forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, or any form of exploitation, and that they in turn apply similar standards to their own supply chains.
Undertaking periodic audits, which may be conducted on-site or remotely, focusing on recruitment practices, right-to-work checks, wage records, working hours, and conditions of accommodation where provided.
Prioritising higher-risk suppliers, such as those providing agency labour, subcontracted services, or operating in sectors or regions with elevated modern slavery risks.
Where concerns are identified, we work with suppliers to implement corrective action plans within clear timeframes. If issues are not resolved to our satisfaction, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Roehampton Movers encourages employees, contractors, and third parties to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or unethical labour practices, whether within our own operations or in our supply chains.
Reports can be made to line managers or senior management. Individuals are encouraged to provide as much detail as possible, including the nature of the concern and any supporting information. All reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly.
We are committed to ensuring that no person who raises a genuine concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or disadvantage as a result of speaking up. Any form of victimisation will be treated as a disciplinary matter.
Training and Awareness
We aim to build awareness of modern slavery risks across our workforce. Training and guidance are provided to relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management, to help them recognise warning signs and respond appropriately to concerns.
We promote a culture where ethical conduct and respect for human rights are central to how we do business, and we expect the same from all who work with us.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Roehampton Movers recognises that the fight against modern slavery requires ongoing vigilance and continuous improvement. We monitor the effectiveness of our policies and processes through feedback from audits, investigations, supplier engagement, and internal reporting.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by the senior management of Roehampton Movers. The review considers changes in legislation, industry best practice, and any incidents or lessons learned during the year. Where necessary, we update our procedures, contractual terms, and training to strengthen our approach and address emerging risks.
This statement has been approved by the management of Roehampton Movers and reflects our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and protecting the rights and welfare of all individuals connected to our business.
